Progress at the Wellness Center

December 11, 2014

After several weeks of bone chilling weather, construction on the Camp Mak-A-Dream Wellness Center is progressing rapidly. The second floor walls should be placed by Christmas. As the building takes form it is becoming apparent that this is going to be a very special space with remarkable panoramic mountain views.

The Wellness Center is a multifunctional building designed to fit in with the existing camp architecture. The upper level houses a 1,856 square foot multipurpose space for presentations and exercise programs. The lower level contains a demonstration kitchen and sleeping rooms. Energy efficiency is achieved through SIP panel construction and plentiful windows for daylighting. Camp Mak-A-Dream is a cost-free, inclusive, medically supervised summer camp for children and teens in various stages of cancer therapy or those that have completed treatment.

Artistic renderings of the completed building can be seen here.
