Madison Street Bike/Pedestrian Bridge

This highly utilized bridge was designed as two independent suspension bridges which used the existing Montana Dept. of Transportation for support except at either end. The department did not allow any penetrations into their structure which drove the connection details. The guard rail was designed to be aesthetically light similar to the suspension design making an open feel to users. The curves of the suspension cable mimic the arched bottom bridge girders above. The galvanized finishes were selected for performance reasons as well as matching the existing steel work.
